Viridi Numu is developing an innnovative blockchain network that will introduce a new consensus algorithm that can help resolve significant environmental and societal problems. We call our new consensus algorithm Proof of Work in Reality (PoWiR). PoWiR is based upon the realization that the work employed in a proof of work does not need to be performed on the blockchain network. Validation of the work must be on the blockchain but the work itself can be performed off network, which will significantly reduce energy consumption, carbon footprint, and will help create an ecosystem that promotes and rewards good intentions.
